I design flexible systems that are resilient and adaptable in unpredictability.

Product development

Leveraging my cross-disciplinary experience allows me to develop products and strategies that adapt in response to use and evolving conditions. Spanning research from textile behavior modeling to materials that activate with heat and humidity, my work bridges diverse scales, fabrication methods, and stakeholders.

Interdisciplinary Research

I collaborate on interdisciplinary teams to address complex challenges. Working on projects such as biomaterial innovation with Hyundai or modeling textiles virtually and physically. I bring robust research and translation skills that bridge disciplinary perspectives.

Material and Fabrication

My background in metal and manufacturing allows me to innovate practical solutions. I address production constraints with material experimentation, such as shape memory nitinol wire and rammed earth building techniques, to create new product strategies. Balancing sustainable methods and material integrity with user needs is paramount.

Human-Centered Design

I work alongside others to create tools that help communities shape their own solutions. These assists include redesigning ballet shoes and adaptive tools for people with disabilities. My work combines technical knowledge with designing participatory dialogues throughout the design process to provide the most impactful outcomes.

restructuring

I study the effects the environment has on our surroundings, and how our constructed spaces and behaviors have impacted our climate. By designing proposals for tangible interventions and experiences, I work to create more symbiotic engagements between built and natural systems.

Sustainable Life Cycles

With an interest in complex lifecycles, I look for ways to analyze and construct ways for designs to evolve and adapt over time. Working with others, I turn environmental challenges into new opportunities for agency.
